Your welcome! Please look for some of Cleveland Amory's other books about society. They are great reads!

It's a veritable Dilettante convention here today.

It is a wonderful book, and of course, Amory's "The Last Resorts" still stands as the definitive work about the Gilded age resorts. Good reads indeed

Why do we not have such good books here in Finland? This I sometimes ask.

"The Last Resorts" may not be the definitive work on the great resorts . . . try Richmond Barrett's "Good Old Summer Days", published in 1952 by the Houghton Mifflin Company. Barrett's father was manager of the Newport Casino, and the author, himself, had, for thirty-eight years, the same seats in the Casino grandstand during the tennis week matches.
