Georgian Court, Lakewood, New Jersey

Georgian Court, Lakewood, New Jersey
Georgian Court was built by George & Edith Gould as their palatial country estate at Lakewood, New Jersey. Designed by architect, Bruce Price in 1898. The approximately 150 acre estate also had numerous entertainment and sports facilities, plus  elaborately landscaped gardens dotted with sculptures. George Gould was the eldest son of Gilded Age Wall Street & Railroad baron, Jay Gould. George's beautiful wife Edith was an actress before he married her, causing George's mother much distress. The estate is now Georgian Court University.

Also it is Halloween time and I guess if one lived in a Gilded Age mansion, one would like to stay in it forever. I am doing some research on the Gould family and found this ghostly story about Georgian Court. http://weirdnj.com/stories/old-school-ghouls-of-georgian-court-university/
