The bartering takes after a bedlam of prosecution that started in 2006, when her grandson Philip C. Marshall recorded a claim denouncing his dad, Anthony D. Marshall, her lone child, of misusing her funds and abusing her. That debate prompted the father's conviction in 2009 on charges of cheating and taking countless dollars from his mom, who was experiencing dementia. (Mr. Marshall, now 88, has requested the decision.)
