The Architecture of Grosvenor Attebury, by Peter Pennoyer & Anne
Walker. This excellent book covers the work of this once prolific Gilded
Age architect. The book is illustrated with plans, elevations, and archival photos that document many of Attebury's commercial, public,
civic, apartments, and mansions. Attebury's style was not like other architects of the era. Most of his works were less pretentious and livable, built for their uses and not to impress with layers of gilding and marble, but just as beautiful and often blended into their environments well.
