Mansions of the Gilded Age also has a very large and active group on Facebook. Founded in 2011 the group now has over 11,000 members. The September 2013 issue of Architectural Digest had this to say, 
" Mansions of the Gilded Age is one of the liveliest design groups on Facebook, with members celebrating (and denigrating lavish examples of late-19th century and early-20th century domestic architecture". 
 
 So please join and share in the camaraderie about a subject so many are passionate about!

10,000 Members on Facebook

Mansions of the Gilded Age also has a very active group on Facebook and has just reached 10,000 members! For those of you who belong to my Facebook group, thank you for joining and all your contributions. Please continue to share, post, recommend friends or just visit and enjoy. For those who would like to join, click HERE. If you are not familiar with Facebook, you do not have to give out all of your life history, you can set up a basic account and leave most blank and not answer requests for friends. The photo above is the Lyndhurst mansion in Tarrytown, New York and it was the first Gilded Age mansion I visited as a child and will always have a special place on my list of great houses. Make sure if your in the area, not to miss visiting this one of kind house, which has survived and is open to the public. http://lyndhurst.org/

Mansions of the Gilded Age administrator Gary Lawrance also picked it  as one of ,"America's  Most Beautiful Mansions" in this Forbes story.

Facebook has been making little movies for it's members. Please take a look at mine and see what we have been doing on Mansions of the Gilded Age at Facebook. Ralph Lauren's Home, Oatlands in Katonah, New York when first built.

My group, Mansions of the Gilded Age on Facebook has been mentioned in the September 2013 issue of Architectural Digest, page 42. Under the column AD HEARS, " Mansions of the Gilded Age is one of the liveliest design groups on Facebook, with members celebrating (and denigrating lavish examples of late-19th century and early-20th century domestic architecture". If you are on Facebook, please ask to join the group, Mansions of the Gilded Age. The group has over 3300 members and growing. You can participate, by adding photos, links or comments, or just enjoy it and read the postings of the members. It is also a wonderful venue to ask questions about historic mansions, estates or social life of the Gilded Age.

Also every issue of Architectural Digest is not to be missed, but this month there is a story about Ralph Lauren's many homes. The photo above is a vintage view of his Katonah, New York home when first built.
