The Long Island estate known as Peacock Point was built for Banker, Henry P. Davison in 1914. The prominent architectural firm of Walker & Gillette, was noted for their country houses as well as townhouses for the wealthy "High Society" set of the Gilded Age. The mansion survived until 1963, then was demolished by the family which still retained the estate to live in smaller houses and other outbuildings converted to residential use. This post HERE tells the full story of the property up to the present and also visit, Old Long Island HERE for more photos and History.
